Super Memory Program Proposal To Disneyland Executives

Dear Disney Executives,

The Comic Industry has the answer to the reading, learning, understanding and information retention problems afflicting many individuals. People of all ages find it difficult to read well, write intelligently, think clearly and remember effectively. Everyone can benefit tremendously when important information is presented in a format that stimulates both the creative right brain and logical left brain hemispheres.

When I was very young, comic books were my constant companion. Superman, Batman, Aquaman and Wonder Woman were secret friends who helped me learn to read. I desperately wanted to know what was happening in each exciting story. I looked up the words I did not understand in a dictionary. It was very important to know what the characters were saying and thinking in the entertaining, exhilarating and captivating stories.

Comic books are still the perfect teaching tool. The powerful images, gorgeous colors and wild action stimulate the emotions, imagination and memory.

The teaching methods and books used in schools have not changed much. They are not very effective. Too much emphasis is placed on written words with no pictures. This format creates boredom and learning difficulties.

Most people, because of the focus on logical, verbal, left hemisphere teaching methods, are brain dead when it comes to creativity. People just don't have the ability to generate the powerful images used as memory hooks.

I am currently working with young Heroes-In-Training to create a super memory system from zero to one thousand, based on the names of characters and creatures already existing in comic literature. This system, once standardized, will transform the learning and memory retention abilities of everyone who uses it.

Each name can be converted into a number mnemonically. The aspects of the costume, weapons, abilities and accessories are powerful mental hooks that can be used to file important bytes of information.

Can you imagine the increase in readership of comics and the loyalty of fans if they realize comics are the ultimate source for desperately needed memory hooks. Powerful memory systems already existent in the pages of Disney Comics, but are unrecognized and not utilized.

Children would be geniuses in short order if the information they must know is presented in a form compatible with the way the mind functions. Reading, writing, arithmetic and thinking scores would go into orbit. Children would be pioneers in the exploration of the most incredible universe, that of the untapped abilities of the human mind!

The comic industry would receive the credit it so rightfully deserves. Eventually, all information would be transformed into the super-memory, instant learning format. The time to process new information in schools and the business world would be cut to a fraction. Consider the tremendous potential.

I am the Special Features Writer for the Coronado Eagle Newspaper. I have developed the Heroes-In-Training Program for high school students. The students get scholastic credits for their work. They cover stories for the newspaper and get the opportunity to meet and write about Heroes. The program has been very successful in Coronado. I have set the program up so it can be duplicated in every small community across the USA.

The program is a perfect vehicle for beneficial publicity. Disney Comics would benefit greatly by getting involved in the Heroes-In-Training Program, locally and nationally. Local newspapers, Rotary clubs, high schools and businesses can work together to benefit young people and increase reading and writing proficiency. The time is now to turn back the tide of bad publicity for youth, negativity and sensationalism in the press and the feeling hopelessness.

Sincerely yours,

Mr. Ralph Zuranski
