"Letter to Defiant Comic Company About Super Memory Program For Kids"

Dear Jim and Defiant People,

Congratulations! Your Plasm is a great addition to the comic industry. I can hardly wait to see issue two. Your writing is exciting and extremely creative. David Lapham is truly one of the great comic book artists. He deserves more recognition for his art. Janet Jackson, James Brown and

Tom Ziuko have created a world of colors that are gorgeous, integrated and inspirational. George Roberts is an outstanding letterer. His use of lettering really adds to the story and life of the characters. Deborah Purcel did a great job editing. I know this is one of the most difficult jobs.

I can emphasize with the difficulties you all have experienced. Naive, honest and dedicated pioneers are often victimized by others who love money, the root of all evil and desire power. I have had similar experiences. I know you all will be successful in your new endeavors. Trials and tribulations increase wisdom, endurance, commitment and adaptability. Ultimately, whatever doesn't kill us, only makes us stronger. We fail only if we give up and don't learn from our mistakes.

Your idea to have a team of real life Superheroes is brilliant. Your vision is the culmination of a dream that has motivated me for many years. I have been working with young people since 1978 as a Superhero named Captain Bio. I have developed this character over 15 years and made personal appearances in San Diego at schools, businesses and the Comic Convention. My goal has been to help each person find the hero or heroine within and develop the incredible mental and physical abilities that lie dormant.

People of all ages need your help desperately. Children in particular can benefit most from your assistance in the fields of learning, understanding, and information retention. The young team of Good Guys could go all over the USA and world promoting your comic company and demonstrating the powers that are resident in each person. I can help. I developed and managed the Pepsi Cola Skateboard Safety Program that went to over 2000 elementary and high schools in Los Angeles in 1978 and 1979. As Captain Bio, I was one of the most powerful people in the skateboard industry.

Most people today are severely handicapped intellectually. They have spent too much time watching television. Many can barely read, write, compute, or solve problems. Almost everyone I meet is ignorant of how their brain processes and remembers information.

The accepted teaching methods and educational materials are partly responsible for this hideous state-of-affairs.

The current educational system in schools uses a teaching method that is mostly left brained, using words without pictures. This format creates boredom and is counter-productive to the way the brain functions most efficiently.

The combinations of pictures and words that evoke emotion, activate imagination and guarantee retention are rarely used.

You and your artists, writers, inkers are the solution to this terrible problem. Their skilled fingers and fertile minds hold the key to super-learning skills. The Good Guys Comic Book and Trading Cards could be the ultimate teaching and Super memory tool. Contests could be held internationally to acknowledge the top performers and identify other potential Good Guy Superheroes.

Comics are the ultimate teaching tool. They integrate powerful images, gorgeous colors, wild action, emotion, exaggeration, imagination and words to create entertaining, exhilarating stories. This combination of words and pictures activates both brain hemispheres and provides the ultimate pathway to instant learning and long term retention.

The weakest link of all memory systems is that people do not have the right-brain, creative abilities to generate the powerful mnemonic images that are hooks for attaching information. Exaggeration, imagination, action, color, emotion, humor, and absurdity are the elements that insure perfect memorization. Most people are brain dead when it comes to creativity and cannot generate the images necessary.

Creative people in the comic industry have already invented thousands of outrageous characters, stories and images. Fifty years of hard work and unflagging dedication has resulted in a huge inventory of heroes, heroines, villains and creatures. These treasures of antiquity are perfect mnemonic hooks for attaching information. Your comic book company could be recognized as the pioneer in this field and help me unite like-minded artists, writers and publishers into a consortium dedicated to solve the learning problems of the world.

Defiant has the possible leading edge on every other company. Each name and creature in your new comic book series can be converted into a number mnemonically. The aspects of the costume, weapons, abilities and accessories could be powerful mental hooks filing important bytes of information.

Can you imagine the gazillions of readers and loyal fans that would be attracted to Defiant Comics. The potential is unlimited, once they realized your comics and trading cards are the ultimate source for desperately needed memory hooks. Defiant could be the first company to develop a customized, powerful memory system that provides hundreds, even thousands of memory hooks. The people at DC, Marvel, Image and Valiant universes don't realize the power of their creations and have yet to develop their comics to take advantage of this incredible concept.

Children would be geniuses in short order using the Defiant Comic Memory System. If the information they must know in school is presented in a way that is compatible with the way their minds function, reading, writing, arithmetic and thinking scores would go into orbit. Children would be pioneers in the exploration of the most incredible universe, that of the untapped abilities of the human mind! The Good Guys could be international ambassadors for this ultimate method of teaching, learning and memorization.

Contests could be held in every city and town. Your company alone or each major comic company would have their own memory system based on their comic universe. There would be international competition to see which company can develop the most effective teaching and memory systems.

The comic industry would receive the credit it so rightfully deserves. Eventually, all information would be transformed into the Super memory, instant-learning format. The time to process new information in schools and the business world would be cut to a fraction. Consider the tremendous potential.

I have had this dream for 15 years and want to work with your company to develop the premier unique memory system based on your new comic universe. This revolution in learning methods will gain international publicity. I would like to help in the writing, be the team leader and trainer of the Good Guys in the comic book and at public appearances. I have perfected a Super memory and can demonstrate incredible ambidextrous skills. I can train your Good Guys Team to do the same in a very short time. I would be the perfect chaperone as we travel the world to promote Defiant Comics and Super memory Trading Cards. I gained lots of valuable experience while being Director of the Pepsi-Cola Skateboard Program.

The cross-promotional possibilities are awesome. It would be possible to develop mutually-beneficial cross-promotional programs with an athletic shoe manufacture, a soft drink company, a clothing manufacturer, toy company and a vitamin company. The options are phenomenal, the success levels exquisite. In my computer and medical consulting business, I already travel the USA and could do Defiant personal appearances, promotions and Superhero demonstrations when I am in different states.

You are the first comic company to receive this proposal. Defiant can have an industry exclusive. Perhaps we can work together. I appreciate your honesty and integrity and realize there are unscrupulous people in this world. It seems we have bumped into our share over the years. I anticipate developing a mutually beneficial relationship.

Helping to write the Good Guys Comic Series would be a dream come true. I am a published writer and an expert in all the latest advances in natural healing medicine world-wide and computers. The plot scenario for fighting evil in medicine, the pharmaceutical industry, and business is awesome. The potential plot crossovers with the Plasm Universe and the others in development is so exciting I can hardly restrain my enthusiasm.

Perhaps we can meet at the Comic Convention in San Diego next week. I can demonstrate my powers, exhibit my credentials and share my strategy. I will be a volunteer for one day. I will also cover the event for The Coronado Eagle Newspaper along with two of my 13 year-old Superheroes in training, one a computer genius and the other a brilliant writer. I have encouraged them to enter your contest and would appreciate if you would meet with them in person.

I have included some samples of my writing and a more detailed vision of my Biological Vision of the world and the preeminence of Biomen, Biowomen and Biomasters.

If you grasp this vision in the near future and want to work with me, I believe I can get us both major newspaper and television coverage for your bold concept and my recognition as the oldest local Superhero in San Diego.

Biologically yours,

Captain Biorhythm

P.S. I have included an autographed picture of Captain Bio. His costume is a test of your brain hemisphere dominance and integration?
